CLIENT
Suvenir App
ABOUT
Our client approached us with a concept for a photo app, and we saw an opportunity to innovate: what if users could share their memories instantly, instead of merely storing them? This idea led to Suvenir, an app that enables real-time photo sharing among attendees, bypassing social networks and traditional albums.
While the client outlined the features they wanted, my role was to shape these ideas into a functional and engaging design. I translated their vision into a seamless and visually appealing user interface, focusing on making the app intuitive and immersive. Suvenir connects users in the moment, turning a concept into a well-crafted experience.

Memories to be made
We were clear that the key was to create a simple and intuitive interface that also inspired users to naturally capture and share their memories. The first major decision was to focus on event creation as the main feature. We designed a flow where each event goes through various states — from inactive to active, countdown, and finally deactivated — to reflect the temporal lifecycle of memories (photos would be available for 30 days, encouraging downloads).
Since the app was not meant to be a traditional photo album, we faced the challenge of managing images dynamically by integrating features such as artificial intelligence that automatically reorganizes blurry or misplaced photos, ensuring the memory curation process is as smooth as possible. Additionally, users can take photos directly from the app or upload them later, providing flexibility. The app follows a freemium model, offering essential features like event creation and photo sharing for free, while advanced functions such as photo retouching and smart organization are unlocked with a subscription.
Sharing made simple
Recognizing that sharing events could be a challenge, we decided to streamline the process with QR codes. By generating a unique QR code for each event, we made it easy for others to join instantly by simply scanning it from their devices. We also introduced printable, beautifully designed cards for a tangible touch. For those without the app, the QR code automatically directs them to the App Store, ensuring everyone can seamlessly connect and share memories.
Crafting a vibrant identity
For Suvenir, we envisioned a visual identity that is both simple and inspiring. The app’s representative icon features an “S” in vibrant colors, symbolizing how users intertwine with the memories they create. We chose bright colors to enliven the image and sharing sections of the app, stimulating creativity and immersing users in the experience. These colors highlight captured moments, while functional elements are kept in sleek black to ensure clarity and ease of use.
We selected the Mulish typeface for its modern, clean aesthetic and excellent readability on digital screens. This choice ensures that text remains clear and engaging across various devices. To maintain a consistent and coherent design, we developed a set of standardized components. These design elements ensure a smooth interaction and that every visual aspect aligns with our desired user experience.
Live, share and remember
Our client approached us with the idea of developing a photo app, and we saw an opportunity to innovate: what if we could share memories instantly? That’s how Suvenir was born—an app that allows users to share photos in real-time with other attendees, without relying on social networks or traditional albums. We crafted an intuitive and engaging experience centered on events and the memories they generate, connecting people in the very moment they’re experiencing those special moments.
We focused on designing a simple yet stimulating interface to facilitate the natural capture and sharing of memories. We implemented an event flow that reflects the temporal lifecycle of photos, which are available for 30 days. Daily collaboration with developers was crucial to translating these designs into a functional and smooth interface, ensuring an optimal user experience.
To streamline event sharing, we incorporated unique QR codes and printable cards, adding a tangible touch. QR codes also direct new users to the App Store if they haven’t installed the app, ensuring seamless connectivity. The visual identity of Suvenir features a vibrant icon symbolizing the connection to memories, with bright colors for image and sharing sections and functional elements in black for clarity.
Although Suvenir was presented to several investors, the project was halted due to the client’s budget constraints. Despite this challenge, Suvenir remains an innovative app prototype addressing a real issue: never receiving those special photos from events like Christmas dinners, making it easier to connect and remember those moments instantly.
