ABOUT

In this project for Banzai Turba, we faced a truly unique challenge: to capture the essence of ‘Taula Eduard’, a table inspired by the design of a printer toner box. Banzai Turba, known for its disruptive and innovative approach to furniture design, creates bespoke pieces that fit seamlessly into their intended spaces. Our goal was to translate this creative concept into a stunning photographic sequence that not only showcased the table, but also conveyed the story behind its design.

Inspired by design

For the shooting of “Taula Eduard,” we developed a concept that vividly illustrated the table’s unique inspiration. Designed with the structure of a printer’s toner box in mind, the table’s origin became the centerpiece of our visual narrative. To bring this concept to life, we incorporated a printer into the shoot, allowing it to interact with the table and highlight its innovative design. This approach created a dynamic and engaging story, showcasing how the table’s distinct design elements are rooted in and brought to life through its conceptual origins.

Central focus: story and design

For the shooting, we teamed up with photographer Salva Lopez to develop a meticulous photo plan. Our goal was to create a neutral backdrop that emphasized the table’s narrative without distractions. We experimented with the positioning of the printer to interact dynamically with the table, capturing its design elements and materials in various angles and focal points. This approach not only highlighted the table’s innovative craftsmanship but also effectively conveyed the concept behind its design. The result was a compelling visual story that showcased both the product’s unique inspiration and the thoughtful execution of the shoot.

Shaping the story

To deepen the narrative, we developed a series of posters that visually echoed the table’s creation process. Drawing from the shapes and schematics used in its fabrication, these posters became an extension of the story we wanted to tell. The visual system merged the digital and physical worlds, incorporating mechanized, monospaced typefaces to evoke the precision of design and craftsmanship. These visual elements flowed seamlessly across both online and offline platforms—appearing as social media posts and strategically placed posters in key brand touchpoints.

Taula Eduard: from toner to table

Banzai Turba’s brief centered on creating a campaign that captured the essence of «Taula Eduard.» The table’s design, inspired by the structure of a printer’s toner box, became the heart of the entire campaign. Our goal was to highlight this unique origin, emphasizing the creative process behind its creation and turning it into a compelling visual narrative.

Inspired by this, we developed the idea of incorporating an actual printer into the shoot, using it as a central element to interact with the table. This allowed us to visually connect the product with its design origins, bringing to life the story of how the table was conceived. Working with photographer Salva Lopez, we opted for a neutral backdrop, ensuring that the focus remained on the interaction between the printer, the table, and the intricate details of its craftsmanship.

To further reinforce the campaign’s concept, we played with shapes and forms drawn from the table’s manufacturing schematics. This gave us the flexibility to apply the concept seamlessly across various media, both online and offline, ensuring that the story of the table remained consistent, engaging, and adaptable to multiple platforms.
